Placing Dental Implants

On a case-by-case basis, our Marysville dentists are able to surgically place the dental implant post into the jaw. The implant post is the first of three steps to restore function and esthetics of a missing tooth.

The implant post is made of biocompatible titanium, which through a process called osseointegration, firmly heals into the jawbone. Once the implant post is into the jawbone, the titanium structure of the implant fuses into the bone and becomes inseparable. By the time this process is complete, you will have an artificial tooth root which grants your dental implant the same level of strength as a natural tooth.

Dental Implant Restorations

The next step of restoring a dental implant is placing the abutment that connects the implant post to the implant crown.

The dental implant crown is the visible tooth which the implant will support. Depending upon the number of implants placed and the number of teeth requiring restoration, this restoration can take a number of forms. Porcelain crowns are ideal if only a single tooth on a single implant requires replacing.

For simple implants cases restoring only a single tooth, the entire process can sometimes be completed in as few as 3 appointments.

If multiple teeth are missing, a fixed bridge can be used with as little as two implants. If the loss of teeth is more widespread, full or partial dentures supported by four or more implants can be fabricated.
